Good potential, but the image quality and aligning need improving.

This can be improved greatly. Frankly, the image quality is awful and the CSS can be spiffed up a little, such as a larger font size and a different colour for the blog posts' titles since the yellow is far too bright. Also, i think the images on the side are better than the main header itself.
The alignment is good, though, which is great for me to say since I use Firefox.

Very pretty indeed. Although i think you should test it on Firefox (i know you've stated that you haven't but i think you should) for compatibility purposes, cos the sidebar is slightly too much to the left in FF. It'd be even better if you could sort out that glitch. Otherwise it's very simple, clean and sleek.
