Dear Myles,
If you are reading this thread reply, I seriously wish that you could pick the Skins of the Day skins personally, or place all the skins submitted on that particular day on a page, whereby we can vote for the best skin to be the Skin of the Day.
If it's really like this, I believe most of the Skins of the Day would be those in the quality. Of course, only allow one I.P. address to vote once in case they vote for multiple times or create clones to vote. (Please only allow verified accounts to vote)

I agree with ElectrocutedMadness about this voting thing.
The SOTDs these days became SOTDs because of the whole 'Rate mine?' thing going on.
I hate it.

At least the whole of the community gets to see all the skins submitted that day and make a better choice of voting.

Then the blogskins.com owner, Myles will choose the better one amongst the tied skins.

I think most of the SOTDs today are not very... erm... SOTD standard, like {RansomLetter} said.
Yeah, it normally goes like this:

REPLY: Very good! Rate mine?
And it's like, advertising your own skin. I'm like, totally, chyeahh. Get a grip, people.

i agree we should vote on our own.
nowdays skins are like anyhow one? Lol, its not kinda fair to others too. Because we don't have the chance to vote. And by voting on our own, its kinda better right!

Haha. I don't know if anyone said this before, but can we have a list that shows us all the skins that were submitted that day?
And no, we shouldn't vote for SOTD, because that way, yeah. It would be the same as the stars rating. And the results can be tweaked. Because sometimes, computers have more ethics than we do. So there.

might as well say that you don't need a 5-star streak to get an SOTD. that would sound better.
because it's pointless to vote for it since you already have the ratings, whereby people abuse and prevent others from getting SOTD.

i agree with detonatedlove, that getting an SOTD does not need a 5 star streak. because some people, oh i dont know why, maybe out of jealousy or stupidity will go around rating people down.
a list of skins submitted that day would be a nice idea, as it would allow people who are not noticed yet get a chance to be recognised.

I agree with everyone here.
Some people rate five stars and they expect a five stars back.
Others just advertise around asking people to rate their skins.
It's just unfair to others.
I would suppose it's better if yeah; A list of skins submitted on that particular day are listed on a list. Yeah, and perhaps Mr Myles might want to choose them personally instead, or have some sort of SOTD crews to make the SOTD fair.
To make it fair we could also choose the SOTD personally without revealing what we choose to others.
Yes and just because one person rate another person down, the angry person would rate him back for 0.5 stars BECAUSE OF REVENGE. =_= I've seen that before.
Now it also helps attracts people to this website. Because the SOTD nowadays are well... Not too good, and not too bad either. But it's just not up to standard in my opinion, no offence.
So yeah;Mr Myles, if you are reading this whole thing, you might actually want to consider changing the SOTD system or taking some of our opinion.

Frankly speaking, SOTD's standard has been dropping madly (except for some).
Sometimes, the skin is a 4.5 stars standard and yet has becomed SOTD.
So I think this voting system would work wonders.

GREAT IDEA man! but its not like evry1 signs in to blogskins everyday , so it will take time rite? why not suggesting a SOTM....skins of the month , so that we have more time to search skins and if we like it , just vote. well, i'm just suggesting.... but the whole concept is from u....so credits to you.

but downloading is already voting... the more downloads a skin gets, the more chances of it being skin of the day. (look at skin of the day for december 3rd... not exactly sotd standard but still gets loads of downloads in a day =.=` i'm not saying its bad, but sotd should have something unique...)
maybe you should define sotd like this... choose skins with average or a lot of downloads... also look at the comments because many ppl just give 5 stars nowadays. don't just define sotd with the number of downloads or star ratings. give newcomers a chance? lols. =D

because like beauty, the skin's impression on you lies on the beholder.

but well, most people still believe that the recent skins of SOTD... don't really rock alot.
unless humans evolved and they started to fall in love with the kind of 1-background-with-patterns-plus-bordered-boxes-for-posts kind of skins.
which i choose not to believe cause i haven't seen any of that kind of skins in use for all of my friends.

yes i know. and they are becoming sotds which is what is really infuriating. and those skinners should also understand that it's too damn common. but well, they still continue doing it like as if blogskin users are dumb enough they do not know how to change the colours of the boxes themselves.

I don't think we should vote, that would be too complicating?
Instead of "rate mine" it'd become "vote mine" and you-vote-mine-i-vote-yours-yay-we're-cool and that kinda thing. of course there are nice people on bs.com that don't do that kind of thing but not everybody's like that.
it wouldn't exactly be 100% fair.

plus, imagine if some users went to create about 5 other accs and voted for their own skin. that'd totally suck! at least the sotd system now doesn't depend entirely on who gets the most faves and stars.

hmm maybe as someone said, we should have a section that states all the skins that have been submitted for that day....
so that one can see all the skins submitted for that day and comment accordingly(:
hmm btw i don't think downloading is really voting... haha. because you may love it but not want to download it.
anyway i second the suggestion made by electrocuted madness(:

i believe there are nice people in the world too(:
and anyway the baddies know that deep in their heart they can't improve if they rate their ownselves or "advertise" their skin.
