Stop saying "it needs more blending". Most of the people who say that have no idea what blending (or it's concept) is.

Give it a rest. Not everything is supposed to be blended. Sometimes the phrase you're actually looking for, rather than "not well blended", is "wow, that looks like Kirstey Alley before she lost all her pregnancy weight."

Blending is, primarily, masking two or more images wherein an effect takes place that merges the two images is a seemingly seamless crossover.

That is what blending is.

Most times, people say "ew blend better" when they actually mean that the image is detatched or, as I so often put it, "floating". I.E, the image does not fit with the layout and presents itself as harsh and rough-cut. Somewhat like trying to insert a circle into a triangle space. It doesn't fit/work.

A very easy solution to this common problem would be to not choose the image after creating the blog area and nav.

The least a skin maker can do is make sure that his/her skin is more than just image and text. It has to be a layout. There is a subtle, yet very important, difference.

I think you should read better before you disagree with me. It seems I know exactly what I'm talking about and you, unfortunately, don't.

dont say the emphasis is on blogging, the words, the text

Do not put words into my mouth. I never said that.

Yes, they may work with the image. Yes, they may slave away at the blog area and nav. Problem is, this is not enough. What's important is that the person creates the skin as a whole entity as opposed to two main parts.

What you're saying doesn't even have anything to do with what I originally posted. Please bore someone else with your insatiable need to feel big and important. You may direct yourself to my hate thread (you will find a link in my profile) for any further pointless hissy-fitting. You have a severe case of verbal diarrhea.

What the fuck, you're posting this, and then someone's giving you a reply, and then YOU are throwing a fit about it.

Hey, j3rk3tt3. If you hate the present-day Blogskins as compare to the one during your time, go away. Stop whining.

That someone isn't being very eloquent. They, it seems to me in any case, didn't properly read what I was trying to put across in the first place.

I was merely correcting them.

I think I am very entitled to throwing a fit in my own thread, thank you. I'm not just going to sit here and let someone insult my intelligence.

Of course I'm throwing a fit. She's making me look like I don't know what I'm talking about and I do not like it one bit.

Basically, they're telling you that your image is too detatched from the blog area. They don't actually mean that they want you to blend your image with another, they just mean that they want your image to fit better with the layout.

Which is why I started the thread in the first place.

if you meant the image to be that way you should have specified so that people commenting wouldn't give comments like that...

and someone told me to blend it into the background.

LOL I totally agree with u. When I just came blogskin.. I receive comments like "more blending" I was like ????? wat is blending? Wat u want me to blend with. Totally clueless LOL!. Sometimes when they say blending, they were asking u to use brushes =.=" Is it a law to use brushes? A skin without brushes isn't a skin? Who say skin without blending or brushes = not nice? Blending was not suspose to be used in this manner.. They didn't know how to use terms like, u should fade the image more, or blur the side of the picture becos it s too sharp or wat.

lolz... I totally opposite , i knew what brush was , but i never actually knew what blending is ^^
we should have ask them elaborate more of it , instead of just " u need more blending " comments . At least we can know which are user which actually know what blending is , and which user are the just follow "need more blending" trend . ^_^

There is a fine line between a general lack of image manipulation skill and personal style. People here need to be more open-minded to different ways of presenting an image. We don't have to always blend images in a layout.

"And there are some people who think that images without blending = ugly skin."

I have to agree with this. I hope most of us here are able to discern between a poorly blended image and an image that may not appear to be blended the way it is done conventionally, which represents the style of the own designer itself. Unfortunately I think many of us are not experienced enough to make that judgment, with the majority of blogskins users being new and first-timers. So we have people here who have no idea what blending is, telling other clueless people to blend their images.

We have to be clear about what blending is, so thank you __j3rk3tt3 for supplying us with a good definition.
