Hey! i dun understand y is it that the pics that is in other ppl's skin is so clear. Theirs' are saved as .gif file. however the pics/images that i dl is save in .jpg file if i change it, the resolution will worsen. how can i make it clear? and where do i get those nice and cool pics?

gif's only allow you to have 256 colors, so they compress really will on computers with lower color resolutions. gif's are good for use with icons, and graphics with fewer colours
jpg's can compress horribly, so if you save, and re-save a picture over, and over again, you will get horrible picture quality. however, jpg's have more colours, so they are good for use with photographs, and other pictures that have higher colours.
png's compress just as well (if not better) than gif's. However, they have the colour count of jpgs. I like pngs.
also, if you're editting a picture, don't save it again and again as a gif, or a jpg. save it as an uncomrpessed file (psd), first, as you work with it. Then, when it's finally finished; compress it as either a gif or a jpg.
Also, I see a lot of people have problems anti-aliasing their images. If you don't anti-alias, you will get jagged, pixellated images. Most image-editting programs will let you anti-alias. paint will not.

oic... thx for that. But i wanna ask y is it also that when i insert a .jpg file into my html and it cant be seen. Whereas when i insert a .gif file it can be seen? is my file too big that i need to resize to so that it can be shown?
