I don't want to seem ignorant or anything but I've noticed that there has been a lot of people submitting 30+ skins with the same layout. It's getting terribly boring and I'm sure you guys have noticed too.
All I'm saying is that I want to see other designs as well and these people who are practically spamming the place with the same old layout over and over again are making it very hard to find original and creative blogskins that are actually worth viewing. It's driving me nuts.
I am not trying to be rude but please do try to put a little effort in designing your own layout or maybe probably base your blogskins on a different layout for a change?
I do hope all of you get my drift here.

i got your drift. I think its alright for that matter. It doesn't affect me or anyone else. If it affects the space left, then it affects me. haha

people are spending more time on how the codes look.
lol. for me, i still think the image's more important.
codes with only nice colours again and again is super duper boring -_-

i totally understand,i seriously cannot understand those that submit the same codes with a new picture.what's the difference,then?i feel that even though people wish to use oher user's basecodes.they should jazz it up a lil.
i use dlove's basecode fr my own blogg,but i've changed quite a bit.i guess that's an improvement

Personally, IMHO, I feel that there's a limit to how much you can change with the coding. Ultimately it's still the image that makes the most difference. Sure, there are quite some number of innovative coding around but in the end if you want to make a blogskin that's both user-friendly and looks alright, there's only so far you can go.
Still, I do agree that some of the blogskins submitted around here need some change in trends. Not just in the codings, but in the theme of the design as well.

IMHO,it's quite difficult to start a trend.
unless a really popular show is coming out soon.an example in the past would be GOONG.
fr example,ISWAK was popular,to me,but ISWAK 2 is like....nothing.
anyway,the holidays are around the corner.maybe more "fresh" skins will pop up.

but looking at the trends we've had so far...
i hope a new one won't be well... "worst".
the icons skin thing was ok... but uhh. dunno.
i just hope the new trend won't be too simplicity focused, or things will really get boring.

Yeah I agree, this is the worst trend I've seen by far.
I find the images that most people use are rather striking and some are actually pretty but
using the exact same codes with the same color, content and layout. I mean, C'MON.
Those images are just put to waste
and it's a darn shame.
Though they do seem pretty at times.
Pretty boring mostly, haha.

Uhuh. Everyone has their own personal style of making a blogskin, no? I think idiots who use the same codes over and over again is just to try to get an SOTD with minimal amount of effort put in, so yeah (:

collage, for me i dont think it was ever a trend.
it was for skinners who want the smallest details for the images in their skins, and will spend more time and effort into adjusting the images to fit them into the right positions to look nice.
(codings over again, -_-)
i still think images are still the main focus of a skin.

i agree with ♥SuperficialLove,but there are free downloadble programmes like GIMP which can also create collages

Codes are more important imo because w/o them it isn't a blog anymore? LOL.
Moreover it can work on itself w/o images.

Well, I'd have to agree with you on that one but I have absolutely no problems with image-less blogskins as long as the codings compensate. The problem surfaces when the codes are all the same amongst a large number of people. The layout, color and all.

well,yea it was cheem to me at first.till now,i only know the basics
but if the person really has a flair or a desire to do collage skins,he/she will find means and ways to do so,without being told.

well, it's not easy to code the "boring standard layouts".
and even if A and B looks totally the same,
as long as a different person code it, the codes will not be the same.

I for one will no longer complain since the number of those per second blogskin submitters have been reduced. Lol. And, for the record, I am not trying to degrade anyone's style of blogskinning or anything. I just wanted to express my point of perspective that there has been alot of common layouts and its bothering me pretty bad, is all.
