i tried to use deviantart too... but its mostly for photoagraphers to upload their pictures.

Just upload your stuff or go searching around for stuff. DA has A LOT of awesome art and resources.

Which part of DeviantART do you want to know about? Mostly you can upload photos, receive comments and write journals.

Actually, there are other categories apart from Photography.
As IMAG!NE-nation has said, there are alot of resources there for programs like Photoshop and Illustrator. (Brushes, patterns, etc.)
There are also artworks of many pro artists and designers uploaded there.
You can use it as a place to build your portfolio if you update your account regularly by uploading your own works.
Some of the resources available for download there require users to credit the creators, so do read the artists' descriptions if you want to use any brushes/stock images/patterns there.
