- From the info page for the skin that you desire, click on Blogger under "Download this skin:"
- Your browser will pop open a window asking you if you want to save or open the file. Choose save.
- Save the file to a location on your computer, and remember that location. I recommend the Desktop.
- Login to Blogger, and click on the "Template" button.
- Find the file you downloaded from BlogSkins, and open it in Notepad, BBEdit, or your favorite text editor.
- Select all of the text in your text editor (in most Windows applications, hitting "CTRL+A" will do this for you.) Copy the text to your clipboard (again, in most Windows applications, hitting "CTRL+C" will do this)
- Go back to your browser with your Blogger Template page open. Select all of the text in the textarea (your existing template). Hit delete. Paste your new skin from your clipboard into the textarea. ("CTRL+V" in Windows).
- Hit the "save changes" button
- Lastly, hit the "publish" button in Blogger to upload your new pages to your server

Update: Thanks to tarheelpundit for this handy tip that I forgot: "you might want to suggest that they back up their original HTML code in case there are problems..." In step 7 above, instead of hitting delete, you should copy it your clipboard and paste it into an empty document in your text editor and save it... Just in case.
